Content is pretty important when it comes to a business or creator’s life. You need to share with your audience, potential clients/customers and actual customers what you can provide to help or interest them. It needs to be clear to them whether you have what they want/need or not.
But this is easier said than done.
The Post-It Project is something I use and encourage, not just for content but for so many other things in life. All kinds of communication related situations.
In this particular situation, I want you to think about it in terms of content.
How do you decide what kind of content to create?
Put down only enough reasons/problems solved or feelings you want to evoke with your content that will fit on a post-it note.
Turn your post-it note over and write down only enough ways that will fit on one note about how you could provide that.
On the next note write an outline of exactly what will be included in the content you’re planning.
On the back of that note write out the steps to complete it.
Start checking off those steps and publish/distribute the content. It’s that simple. If you come up with too many things that don’t fit on your post-it note, start erasing them. Only go with the ones you feel the strongest about.
Simplify, simplify, simplify.
That’s the name of the game.
This can be done in one day, two max.
Try it out. Maybe it’s not the best piece of content, but you tried it, you put something out and you tweak it or try one of your other ideas next time…or maybe you hit it out of the park. Before you determine that spread it as far and wide as you can. Give it some time and ask for feedback. Your opinion doesn’t really matter much, it’s about your clients/customers or potentials and how they feel about it.
Let me know if you need help. Also think about other ways you may be able to use this activity. Bonus points if you share a picture of your post-its in the comments.
